Car Videos of Alex Roy and co-driver Dave Maher accomplishing a record-breaking 31 hours, 4 minutes run from New York to Los Angeles …. last year - on October 9th 2006. Hence beaten Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins in a Ferrari 550 of who claim to have done it in 32:07 on May 14 2007 … (whithout knowing Roy done it in 06). Confused?
- well, it seems Alex brilliantly decided to wait a year before releasing his book - the Driver - and videos documenting his record breaking trip. Why? ohh we might be arrested couple times over … :).
Alex’s inspiration came from the greatest car video - rendezvous.
we have few video previews for ya today!
Bottom line - new Transcontinental Record is 31:04 hours and it was set in a 2000 BMW M5 armed to the teeth with CB radios, GPS units, radar jamers & detectors, night vision cameras, etc!
close call in Oklahoma:
So … to re-cap this confusing history of East coast to West coast cannonball records:

32:07 - David Diem and Doug Turner clocked in a Ferrari 308 during the 1983 US Express run
31:59 - Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins in a black Ferrari 550 - 2007
