new top speed record - 255 mph (410 km/h)
Video of SSC Aero doing top speed runs to beat Guinness World Record of a fastest production car in the world. 2nd video is of the actual Word Record run.
Shelby Supercars’ Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo last week has made two runs in accordance with Guinness Book of World Record rules, one in each direction in Washington. The first run clocked 257.11 MPH, the second, return one came in at 254.55 MPH.
The new top speed record for production car is an average of those 2 runs: 255.83 mph ( 411.7 km/h )!
Looks like Bugatti Veyron has a new competitor. SSC Aero specs: V8 packs 1,183 BHP and 1,094 ft-lbs. (as opposed to the Veyron’s 16 cylinders, 1,001 HP, and 922 ft-lb.). And it weights only 2,700 pounds (versus the Veyron’s 4,162).
