new NY to LA by car record - entire interview
[update] We got the ENTIRE (1-4) video interview with Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins who broke 28 year old record of a drive from New York City to Redondo Beach by car - 1999 Ferrari 550. The new record is 31 hours and 59 minutes and it beats the 1979 record by … 52 minutes. New Car Vids heroes watched Cannonball movies when they were young and thought out the plan to beat the record … for 5 years.

FACTS:
(1) Richard drove back from Montreal while Dennis rested.
(2) They pulled all Bullrun stickers off of their car in NY.
(3) They acquired an EZ-Pass from Tri-State area limo driver.
(4) Date and time confirmations were captured by Bullrun cameramen.
(5) Cameramen shot coverage of the car, liscence plate, odometer and VIN # at both the start and finish.
(6) They have receipts for all EZ-Pass and gas fill-ups.
(7) The had roughly 48 gallons in their tanks after stops.
(8) They used computer programs to calculate pace as well as GPS for positioning (written by Dennis wife

(9) The lost the drivers side windshield wiper very early in the run.
(10) It rained in Pennsylvania, but was clear the rest of the run.
(11) They took the southern route.
(12) Their wives and a camera crew met them when they arrived at the Portofino Inn. The camera crew, again, shot the car, the plates, the VIN number and odometer.
